THE STRATEGIC IMPORTANCE OF PALESTINE

THE NATION THAT CONTROLS the Bosporus and the Suez Canal commands three continents: Europe, Asia, and Africa. The Bosporus technically is the twenty-mile strait between the Black Sea and the Sea of Marmara, but the area actually includes the entire body of water from the Mediterranean to the Black Sea and forms part of the boundary between Europe and Asia. The Suez Canal divides Egypt and the Sinai and links the Mediterranean with the Red Sea. Since the land of Palestine and the nation of Israel sit between the Bosporus and the Suez Canal, the world takes a disproportionate interest in this small strip of land. Palestine is a focal point for military and economic strategy throughout the world.
